Southbridge - Brenda Kay (Dittus) Brown, 69, passed away on Saturday, August 20th, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.
Brenda was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on April 14, 1953, and was the first born child of Merle E. and Betty Jean (Fritschley) Dittus. She is survived by her children: Ryan, Lisa, and Chelsea; and by her siblings: Kathy, Danny and Dina.
She was a model throughout her high school days, and graduated from Herscher High School in 1972.
Brenda later moved to Arizona, where she worked as a receptionist for an eye doctor. During her years in Arizona, she married Michael Uknavage and was blessed their first child, Ryan.
In 1978 the family relocated to Wellington, Colorado, where they bought their first home. She started her own daycare center, and the family was later blessed with their second child, Lisa.
In 1987 Brenda remarried to Christopher Brown, and was eventually blessed with Chelsea, after a difficult pregnancy and unusual birth circumstances.
Brenda was a devoted mother and homemaker. She had talent for floral and wreath design and spent the second half of her life, through retirement, creating beautiful arrangements.
Her kind heart and sweet smile will be missed by her family and close neighbors, as well as her loving nurses, all of whom were devoted to her through her lengthy battle with cancer.
