Betty Hall-Smith. 1920 to 2022, 101 years

On September 7th 2022. , Betty Hall-Smith died peacefully in her sleep at the Overlook Nursing Facility in Charlton. MA

Betty was born on November 10th 1920 in Balham England, the third of five children born to Richard Hexton and Annie Elizabeth Louise ( nee Moore). Her three brothers, Henry, Graham, Peter  and one sister Marjorie all pre deceased her.

Betty lived the major part of her life in England. She was married to Dr. George Waldo Hall-Smith who died in 1990 when they were living in Chichester. Betty remained there for the next ten years making regular visits to the USA to visit her family.

At the age of 80 Betty made the courageous decision to emigrate to the USA to be close to her only child and her three grandchildren. She lived in Sturbridge for several years before moving to the Overlook in Charlton.

She is survived by her daughter Fiona and son- in - law Robert Sparrow of Millis MA, her grandchildren, Kate Elizabeth McNamara and husband Timothy of Sudbury MA, Emma Louise Kinahan and husband David of Unionville CT and Matthew Robert Sparrow and wife Erin of Hopkinton MA. Her surviving great grandchildren are Lucas,  Mackenzie and Eclan Kinahan, Harry, Grace and Lily McNamara,, Lucy, Isla, Hexton and William Sparrow.

In England she is survived by her step daughter Gillian Marshallsay an her husband Fred  her step son Jeremy Hall-Smith and wife Patty, nine step grandchildren and eleven step great grandchildren

  Betty lived long and saw many changes through her life. She contributed much to this world and will be sorely missed.
