Barbara A. (Duclos) Giguere

Southbridge...Barbara A. (Duclos) Giguere, 85, died Tuesday, Novembe 4, 2025, at home following a long illness.  Her husband of 55 years was the late Richard J. Giguere who died February 4, 2015.

She leaves 2 sons: Robert J. Giguere and his husband Craig Lavalley of Clinton, David Giguere of Southbridge, and her daughter Patricia Giguere of S. Windsor, CT.  She also leaves 3 granddaughters: Amanda McGowan and her partner Julian Ouellet of San Diego, CA., Kate McGowan of Baltimore, MD., Erin McGowan and her husband Jason Crocker of Manchester, CT.  She also leaves her cousin Joan Mulligan of Naugatuck CT, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Duclos (1960).

Barbara was born in Southbridge, November 20, 1939, daughter of the late Armand and Sophie (Klockowski) Duclos and was a lifelong resident of Southbridge.  She graduated from the former Mary E. Wells High School, Class of 1957, she graduated from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, she received her BSN from Worcester State (College) University, her Master's Degree in Nursing from UConn, and her Doctorate from UMass. She retired from Worcester State University as a  Professor of Nursing.   

She enjoyed painting landscapes, decorating her home, and spending time with her family and friends.

Calling hours will be Monday, November 10, 2025, from 2-4PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550, with a Prayer Service at 3:30PM.  Burial will be private.
