Obituary
Sturbridge - Aurore J. (Blais) McDonald, 92, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her home following an illness.
Born in Southbridge, MA on October 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and May Ella (Duplessis) Blais. Mrs. McDonald worked at the former Ames Worsted in Southbridge for several years. She enjoyed working with crafts.
Mrs. McDonald is survived by her husband of 70 years, George R. McDonald. They were married May 26, 1951. She is also survived by their 5 daughters: Susan Pienton and her husband, Walter, of Southbridge; Georgette Martin and her husband, Ronald, of Sturbridge; Diane Martell and her husband, Richard, of Woodstock, CT; Lisa Allen and her partner, Neil Piasta, of Dudley; and Lou Ann Krause and her companion Mark D'Olimpio, of Sturbridge; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Constance Cole, of Southbridge. Mrs. McDonald was predeceased by 2 sisters, Doris Butler and Viola Blais.
The funeral will be held Friday, February 18, 2022, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:30AM at St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton Street, Southbridge. Burial will be at a later time. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 5-7PM.
