Sturbridge...Annette M. (Benoit) Proulx, 94, died Monday, March 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 68 years, was the late Cleo R. Proulx, who died April 22, 2018. They were married June 17, 1950.
She leaves 2 sons, David Proulx and his wife Heidi of North Brookfield, Ronald Proulx and his partner Steven Demar of Brookfield, and 6 daughters, Ann Marie Mandeville and her husband Roger of Southbridge, Paulette Fontaine of Sturbridge, Claudette Hardy and her husband Steven of Maynard, Michelle Donais and her partner John Bashaw Brookfield, Madeleine Saunders and her husband Guy of Southbridge, Monique Kopas and her husband David of Thompson, CT, 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Therese Commito of Charlton, her daughter-in-law Sharon Proulx of Southbridge, and many nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her son Paul A. Proulx, Sr. (2009), her infant daughter Susan Proulx, her 2 son-in-laws Harry Fontaine, Jr, and Edgar Donais, and her sisters: Jeannine Jesky, Lorette DiTomasso, and Pauline Benoit, and brother Raymond Benoit.
Mrs. Proulx was born in Southbridge, daughter of Aime and Maria Clarinda (Lamothe) Benoit, and lived here all her life, before moving to Sturbridge. She was a member of St. John Paul II Parish, (a former member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church), and a lifetime member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality. She retired in 1996 at the housekeeper at Notre Dame Church, where she worked for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, craft-making, but most of all loved spending time with her family.
The funeral will be Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550, with a Mass at 11AM at Saint Mary's Church, 247 Hamilton Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. A calling hour will be held prior to the mass from 9:30-10:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
