Ann B. (DiFederico) Metras

Sturbridge...Ann B. (DiFederico) Metras, 89, died Monday, July 18th, at Quaboag Rehab & Longterm Center.  Her husband of 53 years was the late Arthur Metras, who died in 2007.

She is survived by 2 sons Michael Metras and his wife Barbara of Sturbridge, Stephen Metras and his wife Joan of Charlton and 2 daughters Nancy Tothill and her husband David of Barnstead, NH, and Paula Metras of Sturbridge.  She also leaves 7 grandchildren: Jason Metras, Scott Metras, John Metras, Adam Metras , Sean Metras, Katherine Tothill, and Daniel Tothill, 6 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her four sisters: Jeannette Marinelli, Dorothy Kozlowski, Hilda G. Tremblay and Dolores Fantaroni.

Mrs. Metras was born in Southbridge, daughter of Giovanni and Rosa (Masi) DiFederico and has lived many years in Sturbridge.  She was a longtime member of Saint Mary's Church in Southbridge, and retired as a cafeteria worker for Southbridge High School and Charlton Street School.  She has also worked at the American Optical Company many years ago in Casedale as a stitcher

She loved spending time with her family, cooking, watching the Bruins and Patriots, and playing Bingo at the nursing home. 

The funeral will be Saturday, July 23, 2022, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge with a Mass at 10AM at Saint Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.  Burial will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Charlton Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.   A calling hour will be held from 8:30-9:30AM at the funeral home prior to the Mass. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
