In Loving Memory of Ana Garcia Bermudez March 5, 1938 – June 13, 2026.

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Ana Garcia Bermudez, affectionally known as MA. Ana passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. 
A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, partner, and woman of unwavering faith. Ana entered eternal rest at the age of 88, leaving behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, resilience, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. 

Born on March 5, 1938, in Patillas, Puerto Rico,  Ana migrated to New York City at the age of 12, where she would eventually marry, raise her family, and build a beautiful life between Brooklyn and The Bronx. 

Through her determination, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. 
Ana was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bernardino Bermudez; her cherished daughter, Angie Bermudez; her beloved son, Ismael Quiñonez; and her mother, Angela De Leon, including her two brothers Rafael & Jose Garcia whom she lovingly cared for during her later years. 

She leaves behind her loving children: Fernando Bermudez, Lionor Sanchez and her husband Julio Sanchez, Jeanette Bermudez, and twins Gabriel  and Moises Bermudez. She also leaves behind her longtime life partner, Francisco Lopez Gonzalez, affectionately known as Pancho, and many nieces and nephews. Those who knew them knew that where you saw Pancho, you saw Ana. If Pancho was not with her, he was most likely running an errand for her. Together they shared years of companionship, laughter, unwavering support, and a love that became an inseparable part of both their lives. Ana was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and extended family members, including dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. 

She was a devoted homemaker, Ana found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved crocheting, spending hours working on puzzles, and expressing her love through her cooking. Her kitchen was often the heart of her home, where family gathered for meals, stories, and laughter. Whether you arrived hungry, thirsty, heartbroken, or simply in need of company, Ana always made room for you. There was always a warm meal, a cold drink, and a welcoming conversation waiting at her table. 
One of the defining chapters of Ana’s life came after the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Angie. Rather than allowing grief to consume her, she transformed her pain into purpose. With extraordinary love and devotion, she helped raise five young girls as her own, ensuring they knew the security, guidance, and unconditional love every child deserves. Ana became far more than a grandmother—she became a protector, provider, teacher, and mother figure whose love shaped the lives of their generation.  To know Ana was to know generosity. She carried her family through difficult times, celebrated their accomplishments as if they were her own, and offered comfort without hesitation. Her love was selfless, and limitless. Family was always her greatest priority and her greatest joy. 

Though 88 years is a life richly lived, it will never feel like enough time for those fortunate enough to have experienced her love. Her wisdom, traditions, faith, and unwavering presence will continue to guide her family for generations to come. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the countless lives she touched. We find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her and is resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served. Ana Garcia Bermudez was the heart of her family, the keeper of traditions, the comforter of souls, and the embodiment of unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered.
