Fiskdale/Winchendon...Albert A. Belanger, 93, a longtime resident of Fiskdale, died Monday, November 4, 2024, at his daughter and son-in-law's home in Winchendon. His wife of 68 years Elizabeth (Benkowski) Belanger died August 22, 2024.
He is survived by his daughter Ann Connor and her husband Brian of Winchendon, and 3 sons, Dennis Belanger and his wife Denise of Blackstone, MA, John Belanger and his wife Caroline of Dudley, and Joseph Belanger and his companion Joyce Gagnon of Charlton. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, Alex, Jaryd, Tracy, Matt, Pete, Eric, Tara, Todd, Jeremy, Rachel, and Sara. He was predeceased by his brother Donald J. Belanger (Jan. 30, 2023), his sister Vivian Connelly (Dec. 28, 2023), and his daughter-in-law Barbara (Vigeant) Belanger (2011).
Mr. Belanger was born in Southbridge, son of Albert J. and Josephine V. (Kulbacki) Belanger Bryant. He was a former Communicant of St. Joseph Basilica in Webster for many years. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving aboard of the USS English DD 696. He was a member of the American Legion Post #462 of Webster.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and taking hikes in the woods with family and friends he had made when he was the co - owner of County Line True Value Hardware, grain and gas station in Brimfield.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10AM at St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery in Webster. There are no calling hours.
