Muriel I (Rapanault) Garceau

Southbridge...Muriel I. (Rapanault) Garceau, 90,  died Saturday, July 22, 2017, after an illness.  Her husband of 64 years, Normand Garceau, died March 16, 2017. She is survived by 3 sons Brian Garceau and his wife Linda of Southbridge, Kenneth Garceau and his wife Sandy of Sturbridge, and David Garceau of Southbridge, and 6 grandchildren Brittany R. Garceau, Corey Garceau, Garrett Garceau, David Garceau, Abigail McGurk, and Sara Garceau.  She was predeceased by her brother Lionel Rapanault, and 3 sisters Rachel Blair, Sister Theresa Rapanault, and Irene Dumas-Morrison.

Mrs. Garceau was born in Southbridge, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Renaud) Rapanault. She was a lifetime member of St. John Paul II Parish. Some of the things she enjoyed most was "getting he hair done weekly" and going out to dinner after her appointment, eating breakfast at the Elm Center Restaurant/Café, before going to church, and she and her husband were grateful to Brittany for taking such good care of them. She was retired from the American Optical Company, where she worked as a lens grinder.

Calling hours will be Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 5-7PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home (www.sansoucyfuneral.com) 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. The funeral Mass will be Friday, August 4 2017, at 10AM at Saint Hedwig Church, Everett Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.  Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery, Paige Hill Road, Southbridge, MA 01550.
