Southbridge - Leona B. (Burdash) Jarvis, 79, of Moon Street, died Friday, July 13, 2018 at Harrington Memorial Hospital, following an illness.
Her husband of 33 years, Francis W. Jarvis, died January 13, 1993. She is survived by her son, Michael Jarvis and his fiancée, Lori Sheran, of Southbridge; her daughter, Julie Pena and her husband, Luis; her grandchildren, Ashley, wife of Joseph W. Spokis II, Jamie Pena and Sarah Tomlinson, Derek Jarvis, Scott Lamica, Michael Jarvis, and Julia Jarvis; 3 great-grandchildren, Jaylee Jarvis, Luke Jarvis, and Joseph W. Spokis III; 3 sisters, Genevieve Roscoe of Winchester, NH, Rita Lamica of Calabash, NC, and Diana Prairie of Malone, NY; her goddaughter Lisa Peck; many nieces and nephews; and a very special person in her life, Robin Lamica of Southbridge.. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Maurice Burdash, Donald Burdash, and Eugene Burdash, and 3 sisters, Ethel Spinner, Betty Henderson, and Marion Boyea.
Born October 7, 1938 in Malone, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Priscilla (Jones) Burdash. Leona retired from Schott Fiber Optics as a CNC Operator. She enjoyed lunching with her coworkers, being at the beach, shopping with the girls, and most of all, she loved her family,and spending time together with them.
Calling hours will be Monday, July 16, from 5-7PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. The funeral Mass will be held at 10AM Tuesday, July 17, at St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton Street, Southbridge, MA. Burial will be private.
