Brookfield...John E. Grzembski, 73, died Friday, December 7, 2018, at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, Gloria (Richard) Grzembski. They were married May 9, 1964.
He also leaves 2 sons, Emil and his wife Kimberly Grzembski of Southbridge, Richard and his wife Tammy Grzembski of Sturbridge, and a daughter Barbara Johns and her husband Donny of Seattle, WA, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves 2 brothers William Grzembski of Orlando, FL, and Richard Grzembski of Southbridge, 2 sisters Maryann Anctil and her husband Ray of Webster, and Diane Goulet and her husband Michael of Sturbridge, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Joseph Grzembski, James Grzembski, and a nephew Joseph Goulet.
He was born in Dudley, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Clark) Grzembski. John lived most of his life in either Sturbridge or Southbridge. He attended Tantasqua Regional High School, and proudly served in the US Army, and later the Army National Guard for many years. John was a retired cook, working at many restaurants, and at one time owned the Medical Center Coffee Shop. He was a fan of the Boston sports teams, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He had many hobbies, but really enjoyed camping with his wife and family and taking care of his babies…two ShiTzu’s named Max and Annie.He enjoyed camping with his wife and family, and fishing.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018, from 5-7PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 9AM from Sansoucy Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service with Military Honors at 10AM at New Notre Dame Cemetery, 746 N. Woodstock Road, Southbridge, MA 01550.
