George "Chick" Poulin Obituary

Southbridge...George E. "Chick" Poulin, 89, formerly of 60 Charlton Street, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Southbridge Rehab & Healthcare Center. His wife was the late Sandra A. (Belanger) Poulin, who died November 17, 1996.
He is survived by 2 sisters Vivian Lacerte of Titusville, FL, and Lorraine McCarthy and her husband Albert of Cape Coral, FL, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son Russell Poulin, and his sister Constance Normandin.

He was born in Southbridge, son of George J. and Rose Alma (L'Heureux) Poulin.  "Chick" was a stone mason, and heavy equipment operator for Regep Construction, and many years ago was a firefighter for the Town of Southbridge. He also spent time working in South Africa.
Some of his hobbies included fishing, gardening, tinkering with and repairing almost anything that needed tinkering.  He also found great joy in telling fascinating stories of his adventures throughout his life as well as socializing.  He enjoyed almost anything to do with construction and heavy equipment from operating to observing.  He would drive his electric scooter to the construction sites around town to observe and interact with the workers to stay connected.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550 is directing the arrangements.
