George P Fournier

Southbridge...George P. Fournier, 74, a lifelong resident of Southbridge, died Friday, February 9, 2018, at Southbridge Rehab and Health Care Center. He leaves his wife Kathleen "Kathy" (Ryan) Fournier. He also leaves 2 brothers Richard G. Fournier and his wife Cathy of Southbridge, Marc S. Fournier and his wife Joan of Southbridge, his sister Therese Dupuis and her husband John of Southbridge. He also leaves his loving extended family including Don and Louise (Ryan) Ojerholm of N. Brookfield, his two dear God-children Cindy Poirier and Tiffany Fournier-Cronin, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paul R. Fournier who died in March 2012.

George was born August 31, 1943, son of the late George E. and Violette T. (Gauthier) Fournier and lived here all his life. He attended Notre Dame Grammar School, and Cole Trade High School, and a longtime member of St. John Paul II Parish. George was the Operations Manager for the Southbridge DPW, and retired after 32 years of service to the town. He enjoyed all sports, he most enjoyed playing golf, (every opportunity he had), and was an avid New York Giants Football fan. He also enjoyed going out to dinner with his family.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 11AM, at OakRidge Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
