Eugene J. Menard

Sturbridge...Eugene J. Menard, 92, a longtime resident of Sturbridge, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Brookside Rehab & Healthcare in Webster.

His wife of 58 years, was the late Lorraine A. (Lemoine) Menard, who died in February 2008.  He is survived by his son Kevin Menard of Sturbridge, a daughter Deborah Menard of Palm Harbor, FL, and 2 grandsons Timothy Gallagher and his wife Kristin of Fitchburg, MA, and Daniel Gallagher and his wife Mindy of Maryland. He also leaves a sister Shirley Perrazola of Sturbridge, a brother Donald Dion of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.

He was born in Springfield, son of Armand and Mabel (LeClair) Menard Dion, and lived most of his life in Southbridge and Sturbridge. He attended the former Cole Trade High School, and served his Country proudly as a US Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He also later served in the US Navy Reserve for several years.

Eugene worked for over 40 years at the Amerbelle Corp. in Rockville, CT retiring in 1988.

He was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Southbridge for many years, and loved reading the Bible and doing woodworking projects.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, with a church service at the Faith Baptist Church, 515  Dennison Drive, Southbridge, MA 01550.  A calling hour prior to the church service will be held at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550, from 9:30-10:30AM.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at OakRidge Cemetery, Oak Ridge Avenue, Southbridge, MA 01550.
