Biography

Charlton....Delight Adeline (Schornbeck) Krantz was called home to God on Saturday, February 20, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. She spent her last days among family in the home she loved so much in Charlton , MA . Loving care was provided by Jewish Home Hospice of Worcester, MA and Heritage Home Health Care of Sturbridge, MA.

“ Del ” was the daughter of Carl and Bertha (Blumke) Schornbeck and was born in Putnam , CT on October 31, 1926 . She was raised in Webster , MA with her brother Edward by their aunt Lillian “Taunte” Blumke. Del attended Bartlett High School in Webster and Wilfred Academy in Boston . MA. She married Ralph David Krantz, Sr., the “heart of her heart” on January 24, 1948 . They lived together in Clinton , Bolton and Charlton , MA for over 62 years. They also spent many years enjoying their second home on Lake Parker in West Glover, VT. Del worked as a hairdresser and for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years and retired in 1988. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton , MA and was active in the Ladies Aid Society for over 60 years. Her true vocation was as a homemaker and full-time mom.

Del is survived by her husband, Ralph David Krantz, Sr, a son Karl Krantz and his wife Betsy of Charlton, a daughter Heidi Krantz and her husband Corey Jones of Craftsbury , VT , by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and other members of her extended family. She was pre-deceased by two sons, Ralph David Krantz, Jr. and Timothy and one granddaughter.

Calling hours will be held at Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy St in Southbridge , MA on Thursday Feb.25, 2010 from 4- 7 pm . A visitation period from 10 am -11 am on Friday, Feb. 26th will preceed the funeral service to be held at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church 117 Chace St. Clinton, MA. A committal service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton, MA
