Biography

Dudley....Harold A. Young, age 87, formerly of Joshua Place died Saturday Feb. 20, 2010 in Oakwood Rehab. Center & Nursing Home in Webster. His wife was the late Dolores (Plante) Young who died July 14, 1996. He is survived by a son David Young and his partner Susan Hughes of Worcester, and a daughter Diane Bellerose and her husband George of Charlton, 4 grandchildren Holly Damerjian and her husband Harry of Southbridge, Kurt Young and his wife Barbara of Southbridge, Kevin Bellerose and his wife Dawn of W. Melbourne, FL, and Kimberly Makara and her husband Matthew of Somerville, MA, and 3 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister Theresa Boucher of Brimfield, and her son Richard of Vermont, he also enjoyed traveling to St. Petersburg, FL to visit with his sister in law Lorraine Smick and her husband Roger, and their daughter Patty Rondeau and her family. Mr. Young also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and his very close friends Alice Girard and Leo and Susan LaRose of Putnam, and his trips to Foxwoods Casino.
He was born in Coventry, RI son of Joseph and Eva (Jackel) Young and lived most of his life in Southbridge before moving to Dudley 5yrs. ago. Mr. Young owned and operated Young's Express from 1966-96. Prior to starting his own business, he worked for Caron's Express of Sturbridge. He was a member of Notre Dame Church, and was also a US Army veteran.
Calling hours will be Wednesday Feb. 24th from 5-8PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy St. Southbridge. The funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10AM in Notre Dame Church 446 Main St. Southbridge. Burial will follow in New Notre Dame Cemetery N. Woodstock Road Southbridge. Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made to Notre Dame Church Building Fund 61 Marcy St. Southbridge
