STURBRIDGE — Barbara Isabelle (Hickox) Tremblay, 80, of Sturbridge, died Thursday, February 18th, in the care and comfort of her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her late husband of 60 plus years, William Tremblay, one daughter, Nancy Hardt, and one granddaughter, Rachel Hardt. She is survived by 14 children; Daniel Tremblay of Southbridge, Claudia Broschart of West Brookfield, John Tremblay of Saint Johnsbury, VT, Steven Tremblay of Holland, Kathleen Hoenig of Fiskdale, David Tremblay of North Grosvenordale, CT, Susan Bousquet of Southbridge, Norman Tremblay of Charlton, Joseph Tremblay of Sturbridge, William Tremblay of East Hartford, CT, Robert Tremblay of Thomspon, CT, Timothy Tremblay of Quinebaug, CT, Paul Tremblay of Alexandria, VA, and Jennifer Reilly of North Brookfield; three sisters, Doris Malachowski of North Hampton, Dorothy Barr of Brimfield, and June Morey of Holland; 32 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Born in Pittsfield , MA , daughter of the late Burton and Mae (Hall) Hickox, Barbara was raised in Holland and had lived in Sturbridge after marriage since 1951. Mrs. Tremblay treasured her family and loved classical music; she enjoyed nature and always made time for others. She was a kind soul who was deeply loved and respected.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 19th, from 4-7PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy St. Southbridge. The funeral service will be Saturday Feb. 20th at 10AM at the Sturbridge Federated Church 8 Maple St. (Route 131) Sturbridge. Burial will follow in North Cemetery Maple St. Sturbridge
